Schilderswijk / Transvaal

Schilderswijk is a densely populated, vibrant, child-rich district with many amenities including shops, tea houses and community centers. The shops and restaurants are very diverse and reflect the multicultural background of the residents.

You will find both apartments and houses; half of which were build in the 80's and 90's. Life in the Schilderswijk takes place on the streets a lot, with children playing in the various squares.

From the Hobbemaplein you walk to the Hague Market in the adjacent district Transvaalkwartier. The Hague Market is the largest outdoor market in the Netherlands and is a meeting place of many cultures.
